Established in 1922, Golden Bear Sportswear remains one of the last standing beacons of authentic quality outerwear, handcrafted in the USA.

From making dockworker coats in the early 20’s to building a legacy of fine tailored Americana across the eras, Golden Bear upholds their dedication to craftsmanship, bolstered by utilizing only best-in-class materials. Hard-wearing wools, premium cowhides, and luxurious skins are sourced both domestically and from highly regarded mills and tanneries throughout Europe, Brazil, and New Zealand.

We collaborated on a custom series of varsity jackets, cut and sewn at their San Francisco factory, melding 100-year-old manufacturing expertise with contemporary styling and archival design details. Originated in the 60’s, the Albany Jacket is a familiar silhouette that we reproduced in two versions, each with a monochromatic palette adorned with classic graphic appliqué. The Lobos Jacket is our nod to a less prevalent varsity style, featuring a vintage forest green base with a western-style shoulder yoke in white cowhide leather.
